Ability to create more than 4 characters
Hi guys,
I started playing Guild Wars 2-3 weeks ago and i aleredy used all my 4 character slots. Because of that i have to leave 1 slot open and remake a specific PvP build over and over again, this gets frustrating at times. I'm prety sure that i am not the only one that would like more characters slots, 4 is just to little.
So what do you guys think of this idea?

No, I agree, we should have more slots.
Does anyone have any official statement from Anet/NCsoft, about why they only put in 4 slots.

i would think because of server space, they are holdding alot of peoples char's on there servers and, unlike other mmog's whare they are getting paid every month to keep that information, they ( anet) are not. they dont have the luxery of knowing that a check is going to come every month so they need to be weary of how they use there server space.
thats my take on it.
ps: i know that gw dosent use servers like other games, but it is still held on servers.

Well I wouldn't complain, most MMORPG's only allow 1 character per account.
4 is ok I guess, maybe 5 so you could have 2 PvP and 3 PvE? I dunno, whatever your flavour plays as.

one slot for each profession.

Yeah, six, so we can have one primary of each, you can change secondary in the game later so that doesn't matter TOO much.

one *official* statement during an interview they said as new professions /races are released the number of slots would be *reasonably adjusted* which you can make what you want of it
since they seem to be planning for more later possibly they didnt want too many at the start

I think that the CE version should have gotten 2 extra slots instead of having a stupid sparklie goal (that you CANT SHUT OFF) during emotes.
If they just didn't want to make the charcters too powerful by given them a bonus, that would have been a great way.

A simple way of doing this would be allowing an activated account to "assimlate" an unactivated account by punching in the cd-key. You get more cash and you basicly just get an upgraded account which has 4 extra slots. Everybody wins.

some people bought it and later got a gift copy
it would be nice to merge both accounts
also for those who are willing to buy a second copy for the extra spaces it would be more convenient on one account rather than 2 separate logins on 2 accounts
not retarded at all

Too bad they don't sell CD Keys seperate for people who already have the game so you can have two accounts with one game. But to make this more difficult for people to merely install the software from a friend then buy a key, they would have to do it from their setup account screen that would lead them to a secure site on the net where they could buy another account via paypal for ten or fifteen dollars for four extra spots.
I just think if they somehow linked it to your existing account to where only you could access this page or what not through the client, a type of java window or something that wouldn't work if you copied the address or something, it'd be cheaper than buying another copy but allow ANet and NCSoft to get a little extra money that would be optional, not a requirement
I know this sounds confusing but I'm certain it could be done somehow... Just a suggestion to make everyone happy in one way or another...

I agree with bobert, six should be good enough for now. I mean it does make some sense to give everyone the ability to have one character for each primary profession.

Seven would be a better number - one for each primary profession and a slot for a PvP character.

4 is enough, because if you've gotten 4 to lvl 20 then that's probably enough hours played. Also, arena net doesn't want each player having 20 names, because it clogs thier servers and storage, because a lot of the 20 might not be used. Like instant messenger or something.
I'm sure they would have let you have more if they could have, but they didn't want any more clogging than necessary.

Adaria: They do sell cdkeys seperately. If you go to www.plaync.com, you can buy another copy online and get the code emailed to you.

Ah, yeah I did see that. My friend wants another one but paying for a whole nother game seems abit pointless, but PlayNC.com would give you just the key so... yeah lol.

Enough hours played? D: I didn't buy the game expecting to play it a certain amount of hours and then stop, if that's what you mean. I agree that 6 is the happy number.. makes more sense than any other number. (I must have one of each primary profession!)
